What if you could only eat one meal to sustain and fuel your life, for the rest of your life?

The rules:

  • You get one 8″ x 8″ plate, and you can put whatever you like on it.
  • You get to eat this meal three times each day, but you will never receive a different one.

What do you put on that plate?

Don’t fall for the trap: “I want my favorite food, or I’ll starve!”

Wrong, you can learn to like anything, and this plate needs to nourish your ability to love, to make good decisions for your children, yourself, and your career.

Are you a CPA who’s math holds the fate of many people’s financial health? How are you going to nourish that? Do you operate on tumors in children? How is this plate going to steady your hand and mind to perform miracles? Parent? Care-giver? Leader? Friend?

The plate isn’t about you.

This “one plate” question is designed to get you to stop thinking about “food and me” or “my food” because it’s not about you. It’s about the people you serve and care about.

We can nourish that super-human ability to give and serve, or we can diminish it.

If you’re an avid reader of this blog, I can guess two things about you.

1) You have a fine taste in amateur writing.

2) You care a whole lot more about others than you do about yourself.

Mind, body, and spirit are your engines for giving. Don’t introduce a weak link into the chain. If your health isn’t enough, list out everyone you see and care about and re-evaluate. It’s not for you; it’s for them.

So,

What’s for dinner?
