I Don’t Teach Goals

I don’t do goals.

I teach “KOs” (Key-Outcomes)

KOs have four elements. They are S.M.AR.T.
Specific
Measurable
Realistically-Attainable.
BUT…

The last element for a KO is to be “time-based.” Without a due date, it’s not a KO.
Don’t like a due date or can’t estimate the time it will take?
You can make it time-sensitive by asserting some ground covered each day/week/month.

“I will drop 1lb per week on average until I am at 140 lbs.” This KO allows for flexibility (a crucial element, by the way) while keeping it time-based.

“Without a destination, the map is useless. Without an arrival time, the arrival time is never.” -Me.
