Community,
Over the last weeks, this pandemic has grown and is now driving communities back into shutdown again.
My honest assessment is that it’s no longer a question of “if” but of “when” one of us will test positive. In addition, at some point, what’s happening will put the heat on our government to shut down businesses again.
But we’ve come prepared. We’ve had the time and luck to learn from others and implement steps for this. We’ve also had a shutdown of our own and learned a great deal from that. Thanks to many of you, we know the direction to go if a second shutdown happens. We are not sitting idle and waiting. Instead, we are working and being proactive.
This week we have equipment being built to make our space even safer for you. New rowers and spaces are being added to expand the tight class caps while staying within guidelines. On top of those steps, I’ve made it my mission to bring the most professional trainers on-board with experience and passion for our values.
If all of this momentum were not real-enough reasons for optimism, take pride in the fact that we are some of the peskiest, hardest-to-kill, humans on the planet.
COVID will have to break us at our strongest or break itself and become history.
I’ve heard the world is always ending. Grand heroics don’t save it, but instead, the seemingly small virtuous acts of people every day save it, one person at a time. I know our community has added to that pool of virtuous acts.
You’re making a difference every time you wear a mask, disinfect your equipment, and voluntarily stay home “just-in-case.”
I’m more than confident we have the positive attitude to meet and beat the challenge presented to us.
Not to mention gallons of rubbing alcohol and Lysol-coated barbells.
Until we get to the other side of this, let’s push through the burn and keep chipping away, one day at a time, one rep at a time.
