It’s peculiar how much life can be like an elevator.
You’re riding the elevator up to your floor. Other people step on and ride with you for a while. But they aren’t going where you’re going. So, you have to stop and let people off on their floor.
That’s their floor, not yours. You have YOUR floor to reach, and it’s very important that you DON’T Follow them.
Their floors are suitable for them but not for you.
You’ll have to remind yourself:
“I’m not getting off at the failure floor.”
“I’m not visiting the binge junk food for 3 days floor!”
“I’m NOT stopping on the I’ll get back to it when I get back to it – Floor!”
“I’m going to the growing, achieving, and more fulfilling than I ever imagined floor! – And I’m staying on this elevator until I get there.”
And the doors close, and you keep going.
So maybe you never know what would have happened on that one floor if you went with them, but you could probably guess it. The elevator you’re on is taking you exactly where YOU’RE going. And if others want to tag along, that’s cool, too.
Because their floor can be their floor, but your floor is worth seeing, and it’s for you.
