Our mind holds us back when it’s afraid of what could go wrong.
We’re propelled forward when our mind is afraid of what’s catching up to us.
So, what’s the path to making conscious progress? It starts with getting yourself excited about what could go right.
Don’t just think about what could go right. You have to put excitement into your body. How? Two simple steps.
1) Excite: Do ten jumping jacks or dance like crazy for thirty seconds. I mean, REALLY LOSE IT! That can sound ridiculous, and it is! That’s why this works; you have to get out of your head and drop into your body. Trust me; if it doesn’t work, you have all your money back. Go! Then, read step two.
2) Cement it: Visualize yourself into the future. Your outcome is accomplished. Its DONE. Imagine what accomplishing your outcome will feel like! What feels different? Where in your body do you feel it?
Is your chest swollen with confidence?
Is your heart lighter and more proud?
Who’s been impacted and made BETTER because of your hard work?
What kind of parent are you NOW?
What kind of Partner are you NOW?
What kind of LEADER, BOSS, CAREGIVER, or HUMAN are you NOW?
What is this version of you capable of? ANYTHING?!
I bet you are.
We think we need to accomplish something to feel better, but the truth is we can feel that way RIGHT NOW and use that feeling as fuel to get what we want.
Now, sit down. Tune out the noise and tune into your power to change your world and yourself. In 2-3 weeks, what will you have accomplished?
