What You Wont See on a Screen

Vampires sleep in the day (when the sun is shining in Transylvania) and become active when the moon is shining.

You should do the opposite.

Maintaining a circadian rhythm is one of the most important, yet overlooked pieces of having a body that will perform, serve, and feel good for you to inhabit.

Why?

Because it’s not sexy. There are thousands of Instagram fitness influencers (because they couldn’t make it as coaches), but I can’t remember the last time I saw a pic of one of them sleeping.

If we want to give people what they need, as opposed to what we know will get them interested, we would all run nutrition services with gyms in the back. We would post about the struggles of maintaining a normal life in a society of abnormally accepted sickness. We would talk more about meditation and sleep.

If we practiced eating good food, getting good sleep, and thinking good thoughts, not working out would feel abnormal.

I’m not bashing the approach to get people interested in the environments, sports, and people who can and will teach them how to live better. But I do want to remind everyone of this:

Only a small piece of the life of most professional athletes is displayed on screens, and it’s not even the most important piece.

So,

Get to bed at the same time everyday.
Drink your water “and mind your business” (as my friend, Lyubov likes to say).
Practice breathing. 4 seconds in, hold for 4 seconds and exhale for 4 seconds. Do it often. Hear that? It’s the sound that only living people get to hear.
Read often and upgrade yourself.
Avoid isolation when you’re stressed. A problem shared is a problem halved.
Finally, don’t take any of this too seriously. One day, you will die, get over it and get to living.

With love, honesty, and sarcasm about the love part,
